Crisp's Core dashboards provide the essential analytics for running a great food brand. This article focuses on the Distribution dashboard and its three sections: "Overview," or what's going on with your distribution; "Drivers," or the events contributing to your distribution; "Details," or granular information you can act on to improve your distribution.
Please note that visualizations will be different depending on which retailer or distributor is represented (e.g. "Scanning Points of Distribution by Store Zone Code" would be available for the Kroger dashboard but not the Target dashboard).
It's also important to note that distributor dashboards (e.g. UNFI, KeHE) are based on shipping sales, while retailer dashboards (e.g. Walmart, Whole Foods) are based on scanning sales. No matter which retailer or distributor dashboard you're looking at, the basic concepts will remain the same.
Scanning (Or Receiving) Points of Distribution Over Time
These graphs show unique store + product combinations over time. Retailer dashboards will display "Scanning Points of Distribution," which are based on register sales. Distributor dashboards will display "Receiving Points of Distribution Over Time," which are based on shipping sales.
Unit Sales (Or Quantity Shipped) Over Time
These graphs display unit movement over time. Retailer dashboards will display "Unit Sales Over Time," showing the number of units sold at stores. Distributor dashboards will display "Quantity Shipped Over Time," showing the number of units shipped by that distributor.
Current YTD Points of Distribution, Units
These tiles, which update with your filter choices, display the current YTD totals based of the corresponding graphs. The percentage at the bottom of each tile shows the YOY change.
Retailer-specific Example Distributor-specific Example
YOY Points of Distribution by Product
This sortable table displays your points of distribution from year to year. Retailer dashboards will display "YOY Scanning Points of Distribution by Product," reflecting the sales-based nature of how we calculate retailer points of distribution.
Points of Distribution by State
Hover over this heat map for more details on points of distribution at the state level or right-click on a state to drill down further. As with the rest of the Distributor dashboard, retailer dashboards will be based on scanning sales, while distributor dashboards will be based on shipping sales.
Points of Distribution by Dimension
These sortable tables take the basic "Units Per Store Per Week" measurement and slice them by dimensions such as city, product, banner, chain, region, and more. The exact tables will differ based on which retailer or distributor dashboard you're viewing (e.g. "Scanning Points of Distribution by Whole Foods Region" would only be available for the Whole Foods dashboard).
The final section of the dashboard offers detailed information specific to that retailer or distributor in a sortable table. Click the "⋮" ellipses in the top right corner of the table to download an actionable spreadsheet you can send to parties such as buyers and DSD reps.
