To be profitable, food brands need to manage their inventory effectively. With Crisp, UNFI ClearVue subscribers have access to a new dashboard that makes understanding inventory — and managing it — easier.

This article focuses on Crisp's UNFI inventory dashboard and its three sections: "Overview," or what's going on with your inventory; "Drivers," or the events contributing to your inventory levels; "Details," or granular information you can act on when inventory is running low or when planning for a promotion.

Inventory Overview

Inventory by Product (Top 20)

Current Inventory

The Current Inventory table provides an overview of what's currently on hand and on order, averages for what's on hand and on order, and then your weeks of supply. The "Weeks of Supply" column uses the "Week of Supply Lookback Period" filter at the top of the dashboard to calculate how many weeks into the future your product should last based on shipping averages.

On Hand by Lot Detail

The "On Hand by Lot Detail" table makes it easier to identify where products are going to expire by grouping those with the same expiration date into "lots." Click the "Expiration Date" column header to sort the table and see when products will expire and how much quantity on hand by "lot" is set to expire. If an expiration date is missing or appears mis-entered, it's recommended you get in touch with UNFI to check on the status of that inventory at that distribution center.
